Elmer

Primer Columna
Description
Elmer is an open source multiphysics simulation software primarily developed by CSC - IT Center for Science (CSC).
Application in education
Elmer includes physical models of fluid dynamics, structural mechanics, electromagnetism, heat transfer and acoustics, and more. These are described by partial differential equations that Elmer solves using the finite element method (FEM). Elmer supports parallel computing. For many problems, good scalability is achieved in thousands of cores.
Functionalities
  • Computational glaciology
  • Computational electromagnetism
  • Fluid-structure interaction
  • Thermal problems
